One Year of Wilted Wonders!

One Year of Wilted Wonders!

It is the one year anniversary of Wilted Wonders being in business! We are so excited about how far we have come in the last 365 days. We have learned a lot, and none of it would be possible without the community that surrounds us and our amazing customers!

I want to start this blog post out by saying a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has bought items from us, to everyone who has entrusted us with their beloved bouquets, and everyone else who have helped us along the way. We honestly feel so supported by the Westman area and are so excited to be continue to create art out of nature.

This past year has been an absolute wild ride. Sarah and I have learned so much about floral preservation and connected with many amazing people. Here are some of the highlights from the past 12 months:

-We have got to do over 20 pieces of custom work! I know that does not seem like a large number, but we put so much time and love into each project that 20 people entrusting us with their flowers is such an honour.

-Entered into a consignment agreement with Livingstone Outdoor in the gift shop. This allows our products to be in a brick and mortar store so customers can view them whenever.

-Red Kayak Flooring gave up some of their shop space for Sarah to pour resin in the winter months when she is unable to pour in her unheated garage. Mark and Bobby Jo allowing us to use their space has given us the capability to build up stock.

-We attended the Westman Wedding Expo in January. This opportunity allowed us to connect with some amazing people, from future brides and grooms to the other vendors.

-Invested in new materials to better serve our customers. With the help of our dad, we made larger traditional flower presses so we could press larger quantities of flowers. Sarah has started dabbling with larger resin projects, and those large molds are definitely a worthwhile investment.

-Attended our first Apple and Pine market! This was our first larger market and we were overwhelmed with the support of our customers. It warmed our hearts hearing from a customer that they were specifically attending the market to see our stuff.

-Our Instagram account has reached 500 followers!

For the future, we will continue to improve and learn. Looking back on how little we knew one year ago, I am so proud of how far our little business has come. We are really trying to show the people behind this brand more, which does not come naturally to Sarah or I. Our goal is to continue to lean into custom work as it fills our hearts. Don’t get me wrong, we love going to markets to sell our stock and connect with people. There is just something about custom work that feels very meaningful to us. We are hopeful that we will continue to grow and preserve as many flowers as we can.

-Katie & Sarah
